The resort of Caleta de Fuste is located on the east coast of the island and is about a 15 minute drive away from the airport of Fuerteventua, Canary Islands, Spain.
Nestled around the main white sand beach and harbour, the town offers a variety of activities to keep the whole family entertained, this includes crazy golf, tennis, basket ball, archery etc. On the beach you can take a ride on a camel along the sea front or watch Chris the Sandman create amazing designs using only sand and water - you can even sign up for a lesson. Fuerteventura has got two golf clubs just a short distance out of the main town of Caleta. The nearest one (approximately 0.5 km) which hosted the 2004 Spanish open. Golf club Salinas de Antigua is the second golf course, which is next to Fuerteventura golf club. This is also an all year round course of 18 holes, par 70, designed by Manolo Piñeiro, twice champion of the World. With a maximum distance of 5.409m for gentlemen and 4.652 for ladies. The nightlife of Caleta is very low key which makes it ideal for a family holiday. There are many themed bars located around the town, many offering music quizes and karaoke. The town also has a wide range of restaurants offering a variety of food from Spanish and Chinese to Italian and Greek so you will never get bored of eating out.
Approximately a 15 minute walk away from the main town of Caleta is the Atlantico Centre. This offers a variety of restaurants, a 10 pin bowling alley and cinema which shows films in English. There are also clothes and jewelry shops and a Euro Spa supermarket.
Internet and telephones
There are plenty of public telephones which you can use; you can buy telephone cards in most super markets. If you want to use your mobile it is best to get a local sim card, you can but these in the Atlantico shopping centre and buy top ups at most super markets.
There are internet access points in the amusement arcades, the Chinese restaurant “Slow boat II”. Probably the cheapest place to make telephone calls and check your e-mails is at “Cyber Locutorio”. This is at the side of Caleta Garden apartments, opposite "Crazy corner".
